About games and creativity

I am not an intensive gamer. I usually play once a week for a few hours, less often a few times a week and more often when I am on vacation.

I especially like atmospheric games with a story that has social interaction. However, big does not necessarily mean open world. It can be more of a corridor genre, such as The Last of Us series (my favorite by the way, I have played both parts more than four times, including platinum ;-) ), but at the same time be big in terms of event density, storyline scope, gameplay variations and more.

I admire the people who develop games. When I think about any aspect of a game, I always see people behind it who somehow had an idea and brought it to life in the code, on the screen, in the sound, in my feelings and emotions, and that gives me sincere delight.

However, I assume that all of this was done according to proven principles, using methods, analysis, accumulated experience, etc. Otherwise, the game would not be so good.

But what seems particularly important to me is that if it were made without passion, or soul, as just another commercial product, it would hardly have resonated with the audience. Of course, there are many aspects that are important in a game, but I think that in a good game, they all work together in harmony.

In conclusion…, I would like to put together a team that shares my views on games. I personally do not know how to do anything related to game development (although I have read a number of books on the subject), but I have an understanding of what makes a good game, or a sense of taste, if you will.

I will be working from that understanding, but I will also listen to my colleagues.
