My plan
Intro
I want to put down on paper my current plan, which I have come up with after some time of thinking.
I have set myself several main goals:
To put into practice the entire game development process.
Analytics. To learn product analytics on my own and make decisions based on it.
To master mobile game marketing, i.e. their promotion.
To improve management skills.
About skills
The first point was necessary for me to get a basic understanding of how the indie development process works.
I went through the full range of emotions during this period, from excitement to burnout, but it was all worth it in the end.
And now I have a better understanding of how difficult this is. There are many things to consider, such as the risk of having to rework half or the entire game if a wrong decision is made.
In addition, I have a practical understanding now of which roles in a team are responsible for what and which ones are indispensable.
The game is complete now, I need to focus on developing my skills in points 2 and 3. I will be keeping a record of this experience, so please follow along if you are interested in.
To develop my skills in the fourth point, I plan to read books and other materials on this topic to improve my theoretical understanding. I will be able to put this knowledge into practice when I have a team.
Team
My budget is limited to two people at the start, so the first hire will be a game designer(GD), followed by a developer. We will rely on the GD experience to target specific platforms. We will use freelancers to cover the remaining needs.
It is important to note that I will strive to build partnerships with team members, and this does not necessarily mean financial participation. However, these are just details, and I think I will make separate notes on this matter.
Money
As there is little money, it seems that the best way to multiply it is to start producing mobile games. However, the competition is very fierce and the cost of promotion is higher. Therefore, it will be necessary to be very precise in the methods and means of promotion.
However, if we can find a game designer with successful experience for other platforms, we will rely on his experience. This is because the main goal is to multiply capital, and with funds in reserve, we can spend them on steps that will help us to achieve our main goal.
It is important to note that I aim to achieve my main goal without external investment. However, I am open to the possibility of a team member becoming a partner and contributing financially
Main goal
To achieve a state where the studio produces AAA+ games. This means focusing on eliciting maximum emotions, rather than maximum profits.
